Cedar of lebanon (Cedrus libani)

Cedar of lebanon The Lebanon cedar is an evergreen tree that belongs to the family of abietáceas. It is a tree used in some gardens and the general appearance of the plant is very showy and attractive. It takes several generations to reach its peak, exceeding 30 m in height in most cases. This conifer has a thick trunk at the bottom and branches rather falls, the cup is pyramidal, with horizontal spreading branches. Its leaves are persistent and cones are spherical in shape. Cedar of Lebanon grows in locations between 1,000 and 2,000 meters. It is commonly found in North America.

FLOWERING

The flowering season occurs during spring. The leaves are hand harvested, which is then used to extract from them the essence. Some will stay fresh after picking but others are dried to last longer. APPLICATIONS

The only drawback is that it takes several generations to be a mature tree and it requires much patience.

ADMINISTRATION

Poultice. 5 g was crushed. leaves and placed in a cotton cloth, apply the preparation on small wounds to disinfect. Its effect is mild but can be used if no other better thing to hand.
Balsam. It extracts the essence of the leaves and prepares a balm.
