Clove (Eugenia caryophyllata)

The essence gives properties strongly antiseptic, carminative, stimulating the appetite and digestion, and local level, healing and pain relief. Thus is indicated problems anorexia, flatulent dyspepsia, bronchitis, wounds, skin ulcers, stomatitis, tonsillitis and otitis. As a precaution to keep in mind it must be remembered that this is an essence and therefore has an irritating action on mucous membranes. You can also exercise some exciting action on the central nervous system.

ADMINISTRATION

Infusion for internal use. With 10 g. per liter of water make an infusion of which can take up to three cups a day, both before and after meals. If taken before exerts a aperitif and if taken after exercise eupeptic action.
Essence. They are administered one to three drops three times daily, applied on a sugar cube or in oily solution.
Tincture. 10 to 30 drops per day, preferably before meals.
Infusion external use. 2% is used, applied as washes, rinses or gargles.
Essence. Can also be used externally. This will imbibe few drops of the essence in gauze and applied directly on the teeth. In the market there is marketed as both the essence hydroglycolic plant extract and properly dried plant.
