SOURCE OF VITAMIN C It contains Vitamin C Vitamin C or L-enantiomer of ascorbic acid, is an essential nutrient for humans. The presence of this vitamin is required for a number of metabolic reactions and is created internally by almost all organisms, humans being one notable exception. It is widely known that its deficiency causes scurvy in humans, hence the name given ascorbic acid. It is also widely used as food additive.
